           The Funnest Shop on Main

"Oh, My Stars," "It's another day in Paradise" for those who love inspirational signs and gifts.  Once Upon A Sign is the cutest, littlest shop located at 6th and Main Street in Historic Downtown Hendersonville, North Carolina.  If "Never confuse hospitality with endurance" is more exciting to you than a slice of chocolate cream pie, this is the place for you.  Eva Ritchey, owner, has a life long love affair with words and is expressing them in her little shop.

Her signs and framed art range from the humorous to the sentimental and make for a fun afternoon of reading.  Have  something you want to say?  Special orders are available.

Once Upon A Sign specializes in American made gifts and features:

  • Framed Art and American Made Teapots
  • Davies Gate Organic Lotions and Creams
  • Oakmont Soy Candles, Ahhh, so wonderful!
  • American made jewelry
  • French Soaps by the venerable Robert Gallet
  • Snuggly Australian wool/blend undershirts
  • Largest collection of children's wall décor signage in Western North Carolina.

Stop by and "sit long, talk much, and laugh often."

My Father
My Friend

Is that how you feel about your Father?  To this day, even though my Father has been gone almost 13 years, I still miss him.  I use my middle initial when I write as a "tip of the hat" to him.  Let's celebrate Fathers for the blessing they are to us.

Apple Festival

I want to thank all of you who stopped by to visit.  Every visit and every purchase was greatly appreciated.  We made so many new friends and collected some wonderful new ideas for signs.  Although the weather was a little warm in the afternoon, it was probably one our best attended festivals in memory.   The apples were golden and delicious.  (Caramel apples covered with nuts are my favoite.)

By the way, if you are coming to Hendersonville, you might want to stop by the Stepp Orchard to pick apples.  The Stepps are a wonderful family and I have been picking apples there for over 20 years.  A stop by the Lyda Farm for pumpkins and giant green cabbages and a short ride to Bat Cave for fresh pressed cider is also a family tradition.

Again, my thanks.

Eva

Our New Online Store

We're pretty excited about our new online store.

www.shop.onceuponasign.biz

Deciding on the items was a hard decision since we are starting with only 20 products and there are over 500 items in our shop.  There are literally hundreds of funny and inspirational signs.  If you don't see the item you want, please call or email.  For example:  The very popular American made wind spinner is also available in other styles and sizes including the sunburst, horses and very cute heart.  I have put this enterprise in the capable hands of my daughter Jessica. She has forgotten more about computers and online sales than I will ever know.  Thankyou for visiting with us and check back often.
